hotel features. grey, white, and red marble run throughout the hotel, from the beamed ceiling reception area to a large salon with moulded stucco ceiling, giant murano glass chandelier, gilded chairs, and damask couches. in warm weather an interior garden courtyard serves as a quiet sanctuary. high speed internet access (surcharge) is available via the computer in the lobby, while the complimentary fitness centre contains cardio machines, a weight machine, and free weights.
the europa and regina has two terraces on the waterfront which offer panoramic views of the grand canal, st mark's basin to which the canal connects, and santa maria della salute church on the canal's opposite side. one terrace fronts the hotel's fine dining restaurant; the other fronts the hotel bar.
from mid morning to late night during summer, the westin europa and regina provides complimentary shuttle boat service to two partner hotels on the lido, a slender, 11.5 kilometre long island which lies a 15 minute ride east of historic venice's centre. both lido hotels include private beach clubs (surcharges for cabanas, umbrellas, and sun loungers) and swimming pools (surcharges).

We loved our holiday in the Westin Europa! It is in an awesome location, on the Grand Canal, close to Piazza St Marco, and the shopping district which pleased my wife! The staff were very friendly and gave us a bottle of champagne when my wife mentioned it was my 40th birthday! They also arranged a water taxi to Murano for us. The buffet breakfast eaten outside on the Grand Canal was great. The room itself had a huge flat screen TV! It was spacious and comfortable, traditionally furnished. We can't fault the hotel, it is pricey, but the location is unbeatable and well afterall it's Venice!

We found our room to be small, especially the bathroom. We were disappointed about this having been impressed by other Westin hotels that we have stayed at. However, the staff were very kind and moved us to a larger room, though it was not hugely better. The location, breakfast and lavish venecian decor cannot be faulted! We enjoyed eating breakfast by the canal, and watch the gondolas pass.
